چکیده

Abstract Background Willis covered stent is the first designed exclusively for intracranial vasculature, and its application in carotid-cavernous fistula limited. The aim to evaluate feasibility efficacy of this device treating direct fistula. Methods Ten consecutive patients with were treated our institution stents from September 2013 December 2015. characteristics these immediate follow-up results retrospectively reviewed. Results Of 10 patients, 8 time, 2 had been elsewhere. successfully released 9 patients. Abnormal arteriovenous shunt disappeared 6 cases immediately after deployment endoleak occurred 3 cases. Endoleak at 6-month angiography one case was sealed coils through a pre-set microcatheter another case. Parent artery sacrificed as remained despite repeated balloon dilation second third All got clinical follow-ups least 24 months 7 received angiographic follow-up. Symptoms relieved gradually all except slight oculomotor paralysis visual acuity case, respectively. In-stent stenosis found 1 no recurrence observed. Conclusions feasible

Iatrogenic femoral arteriovenous fistula: endovascular treatment with covered stent implantation and 4-year follow-up.

Puncture site complications such as arteriovenous fistula after femoral arterial catheterizations are becoming more common with the increasing number of endovascular procedures being performed by interventional radiologists and cardiologists. Covered stent placement with endovascular technique for these lesions represents an appealing treatment alternative because it is only minimally invasive ...

Treatment of iatrogenic internal carotid artery laceration and carotid cavernous fistula with endovascular stent-graft placement.

The risk of fatal injury of the internal carotid artery (ICA) and surrounding anatomy during transsphenoidal surgery for pituitary adenoma is the most severe potential complication associated with this particular approach. We present a case in which iatrogenic injury to a patient's ICA and resultant carotid cavernous fistula and massive hemorrhage was successfully managed with the emergency pla...

Covered Stents for the Endovascular Treatment of a Direct Carotid Cavernous Fistula : Single Center Experiences with 10 Cases

OBJECTIVE Covered stent has been recently reported as an effective alternative treatment for direct carotid cavernous fistulas (DCCFs). The purpose of this study is to describe our experiences with the treatment of DCCF with covered stents and to evaluate whether a covered stent has a potential to be used as the first choice in selected cases. METHODS From February 2009 through July 2013, 10 ...
